Marcaj — Terms of Use
Last updated: 23 October 2026
Marcaj is a free Android hiking and cycling map and navigation app developed by GRANDIT S.R.L., CUI 47824955, Trade Registry No. J2023000744051, registered office in Oradea, Bihor County, Romania. By using the app you agree to these terms. You can write to us at contact@grandit.ro.
1. The map can be wrong
The maps come from OpenStreetMap, made by volunteers, and from the European Copernicus programme. They can be incomplete, wrong or out of date: a path may be missing, closed, overgrown or dangerous, and a road may be private. Routes, distances and times are estimates. Always check the ground, the trail marks and signs, the weather and your own abilities, and carry a backup map and a charged phone.
2. Not an emergency service
In an emergency call 112, or Salvamont on 0725 826 668. The app's emergency screen only shows your position and the numbers; it does not call or send anything by itself. GPS positions can be inaccurate, especially in valleys, forests and among rocks.
3. Take care on the way
Do not use the phone while driving or riding. Follow traffic rules, the rules of protected areas, private property and closed roads, even where the map shows a route.
4. Liability
The app is free and provided as it is. To the extent permitted by law, GRANDIT S.R.L. is not liable for loss or damage arising from using it or from relying on the map data. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.
5. Data and licences
Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, under the ODbL; terrain and forests: Copernicus, European Union. You may use this data under its licences. The app belongs to GRANDIT S.R.L.; the libraries it uses are listed, with their licences, on its About screen.
6. Privacy
Marcaj has no internet access and sends no data from your phone. See the privacy policy for the details.
7. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; the date of the last update is shown at the top. These terms are governed by Romanian law.
